Welcome to Madeira Beach
Madeira Beach, or "Mad Beach" as it's known to the locals, is an island town made up of approximately 4,500 residents. While a small portion of the city lies on the mainland, the majority of the land that makes up the city of Madeira Beach is bordered on the west by the white sands of Gulf of Mexico, and on the east by the intracoastal waterway. The northern border is shared with Redington Beach and the southern border is John's Pass bridge, shared with Treasure Island. There are points within the city where the land is less than 100 yards wide. The city's unofficial slogan is "two miles long and a smile wide".
There is a lot to do within the little city on the Gulf. The northern end of the city is anchored by the city hall and recreation complex. Also on the northern end of the city is Madeira Way which features frequent street events such as art/craft shows, morning markets and more. The southern end of the city is anchored by John's Pass Village & Boardwalk. John's Pass Village & Boardwalk is modeled after a quaint fishing village and offers over 100 shops, restaurants, fishing charters, casino, dolphin and sight-seeing cruises, boats rentals, and parasailing. You will find dining that ranges from major chains like Hooters and Bubba Gump Shrimp Company, to local specialty restaurants such as Walt'z Fish Shak, Sculley's and the Friendly Fisherman.
While there is much to do on the land, the main attraction of the city of Madeira Beach is the beautiful white sand beach along the Gulf of Mexico and the surrounding bay and Gulf waters. Water sports enthusiasts and beach goers alike will find no shortage of opportunities for fun. Offshore and inshore fishing is terrific, snorkling, scuba, wav runners, dolphin watching, bird watching, wind surfing, kite boarding and so much more. The community routinely hosts events like fishing tournaments, seafood festivals and 5K runs. If all those activities make you thirsty, Mad Beach Brewing has locally crafted beers and beach inspired food.
